I have this camera, can someone please tell me how to get the black bars from the bottom and top without distorting the quality?

Exactly my thoughts too. I have a 3 year old Pentax Optio with only 3.2 mega pixles and it blows the the Lumix FT1 stills into the weeds. The images get worse even slightly zoomed in too and are very grainy at only half zoom in good light. 5/5
