  • " We Shall Walk Through The Streets Of The city" was originally composed by Peacock in 1874, according to my records. This would pre-date "Red River Valley" and also the Rev Haywood's lyrics for "We shall Walk" which came along later.

The composer of "Red River Valley" (unknown) may have copied the melody, as it would have been out of copyright. However it is a very, very common chord sequence used for many melodies. Same as the "Saints" for just one example.

  • But the tune is "Red River Valley". Rev. Haywood just put new lyrics to it.

  • Great song written by a great preacher..

    Rev. Garfield Haywood..

Great Pentecostal Apostolic Preacher of the 1900's... he started the P.A.W. church

  • Brian and his lads and lasses know what they're doing!

    Bless 'em all!

(Brian you know who I am - think about it!)
