http://delargy.com/2007_10_NEA_GOT/NEA_GOT.htm - I had the fantastic fortune of being able to dive in the Giant Ocean tank in the New England Aquarium with turtles, rays, plenty of carribean fish and 4 sharks.

  • notice the position of the sandtiger at 2:30 I may be wrong (usually am) but isnt that a sign of distress

  • Good observation. In fact the shark did die very soon after I took that video and dove with in the tank with him. Sand Tiger Sharks are one of the shark types that need to swim to get oxygen and as you can see he was not doing much of that. That exaggerated curve of his spine was a symptom of an illness that I think caused his demise.

  • so is this a hobby of yours or a career

  • Diving is a hobby. It would be great if I could make a career out of it.

  • @aramisun hmmm poor thing it might have been lazy, or weak. They said that they handfeed it twice a day, so it couldn't be that it was neglected or not getting enough food or attention. Anyway, nice video. Thanks alot, for posting it! I have always wanted to know what it feels like when yyou can see underwater, now, I know , thanks to you and I, snorkeling on the bay. Thanks alot! Bye!

  • @lemurfan -123 It had a disease that some SandTiger sharks get. Causes a curving of the spine and makes it hard for them to swim. This is of course contrary to the myth that sharks don't get sick.

  • @aramisun Ooooh Ouch! I think it's because they need to swim in a streight line (I am a child who is interested in sharks, so please, ignore the incorrect spelling, sorry)

  • @NewEnglandAquarium Awesome! So you work at the Aquarium? I loved visiting there. It was fatastic! I couldn't belive how tame the animals were! How old do you have to be to dive their? I am a kid, but I realy want to, I am not scared of the sharks, sting rays, and big and dangerous animals in the tank! (Well, a little bit, but who cares!)

  • @aramisun yeah, it would

  • @tortoiseluva whos the legendary myrtle?

  • at 3:47 if that shark got any closer then it already was i would of die

  • I see, thank you
