Is it just me or does it seem like the gymnastics of the 1980's was so much more creative and unique than now? It all seems so cookie cutter now with not much originality--ya know???

They did better tricks than gymnasts do today... yes, maybe it´s more difficult now, but a little bit boring..

@flyergymgirl125 i agree. like the flips before they enter the bars... now its all boring and too many technicalities so theres not much room for uniqueness

@dalmationham Yeah, it's really a shame too. 4 element passes were my absolute favorite :-) The only girl I know of today that does that is Li Shanshan from China. She does a back handspring, back handspring, layout, Korbut flip. That's really the only series I've seen since "96. :-(

yeah i don't think they even allow four element tumbling passes on beam anymore. like the girl at 1:29. they had those through the 96 olympics for shure tho.
