http://hktimes.blogspot.com Dr. Eric Fung, DMA from the Juilliard school, won the Second Prize in the 2002 Thirteenth International Johann Sebastian Bach Competition held in Leipzig.
Sorry, when I attached the video below I was still writing my comments and they disappeared.
As an amateur classical pianist recordings/videos such as your are helpful and inspiring. I thought your interpretation of the Aria was unique. I enjoyed your use and pace, and placement of ornaments.
I also found your use of rubato particularly effective and used at a couple of unexpected bars in the Aria. Beautiful playing, I attached a video below of a recent recital - & had a bit of fun with it.
Hi,Eric.Goldberg Variation is one of my favourite pieces by Bach and great to hear your performance in youtube. I was so impressed by the masterclass you held in 2004 in HK. I went to Europe for short courses in music in the next year.I went to places,e.g.Einsenach, Leipzig,Vienna,Salzburg. Thanks for your inspiration and I tried to find out more about musicians, especially Bach and Christianity in Germany.God is great!
Hi Eric, this is Joyce (from Rochester). We were in the same fellowship, and I drove a white Mazda MX3, remember? I lost contact with you (and everyone), and have been looking for you for years! Finally, I decided to look at YouTub, and haha, I found you. Are you in HK or the U.S.? I'm in HK now. I now go to ECC church. Let's get together again!
this is your student Anitra. Glad i found you playing the piano on youtube.....this was done very beautifully......and that can't be your home can it? that room is way too nice looking.
I love it. Is there MORE?? Still 28 more variations to GO!!
