  • jimmy page nicked the violin bow idea from eddie phillips when ex-creation roadie joined yardbirds just before new yardbirds evolved into led zeppelin.

dont think jimmy page was ever original at all!,most led zep songs were re-worked blues songs and re-credited page-plant.

at least eric clapton acclaimed the original artists by making royalty payments,page-plant didn't!.

  • Ive got a "sort of" vid of Little Egypt, but Ive got no idea how to get it to ya!! :(

  • Zep were sampling long time ago it seems. By sampling I mean taking other artists songs and passing them off as their own.

  • @jakegladman wasn't aware of that but we can't forget how he took Keith Relf's lyrics and used them for Tangerine without giving him any credit. Also I've heard a recording from the whisky a go go in '69 where Plant introduces Dazed and Confused as an original number Page wrote. hahaha what a bunch of tools.

  • muito fodaaaaaaaaaaa

  • @fastrnb Nice call! Spirit=unique mix of psych,jazz & rock. Great band,cruelly neglected.

  • @jakegladman

Page also probably "borrowed" the Theremin and Daneelctro from Randy California of Spirit. Zep opened for THEM.

  • yes he fucking is

  • @brigader4heart Are you insulting Led Zeppelin?

  • While I'm at it, check out the guitar line about a minute into the 1968 song 'Taurus' by a band called Spirit. Jimmy Page stole that as well! Yes, he did make it into a far better song, and yes, he was a great guitarist (I love his session playing on Lulu's 'I'll Come Running Over') but when it comes to ripping people off & stealing other people's ideas, he got away with murder!

    Now..... back to the Creation!

  • @brigader4heart Jimmy Plant also screwed over The Fleur Des Lys when he was producing one of their early singles, 'Moondreams'. The band recorded an original song for the B-Side 'Wait For Me' and left Jimmy Page to produce the single while they were on tour. When the single was pressed, Page had recorded an instrumental jam which he also titled 'Wait For Me' and gave himself the credit and royalties from it! Page claimed he damaged the original Fleur Des Lys version. The cheek!
