  • Renate says exactly what I try to convey to people all the time--the connection you have to something you have made, something you have done. Beautiful. Shared on Facebook and Ravelry and everywhere else I can think of. <3

  • Thanks chocobogoddess! Sharing Renate's thoughts (and your own) will make the world a better place :)

  • Thank you for a BEAUTIFUL explaination of the importance of hand arts.

  • Beautiful.

  • Dear Renate: Do you know the saying of Jacob Bronowski? He says: We have to understand that the world can only be grasped by action, not by contemplation. The had is more important than the eye..... The hand is the cutting edge of the brain.

  • What a wonderful video... I have recommended it on Facebook several times, and it is particularly good for non-anthroposophical folks to hear. So nice to see Renate and her wise words. I only wish I had been able to take more classes from her and Mikae during my time in Spring Valley.

  • I recommend to everyone who has the opportunity to visit The Fiber Craft Studio in Spring Valley, NY. In one short year, my own being has transformed and evolved while learning from Renate and Mikae, and experiencing the magic of handwork.

  • I love this film...Renate is an amazing woman.

  • Very insightful about how we've moved away from working with our hands and minds and have instead let modern toys and products/objects do it all for us. We've stripped something from our lives by not engaging in the crafts and activities we've outmoded. Adults and children alike need to be more hands on and involved in the art and tasks of life and not let it all be removed by labor saving devices and other luxury. We need contact. Fantastic video! Thanks!

  • Very well said. Love this.
