According to Baud's Mont Blanc Guide, the Whymper is rated difficulty 5.3 (50 degrees +) with exposure of 3 (no-fall zone). Caution is understandable ....

1/ Im not in the US, although I have skied and snowboarded there and in Canada. I lived in Chamonix for 3 years.

2/ Virtually the entire Whymper gully is below 4000 meters.

Well, maybe my reaction to your comment was a bit to bold...it just pisses me off, I have to say, it pisses me off enormously, when people, and most of the time people who aren't really good at the sport, bash people who post skiing videos, saying things like "he's so slow" and stuff. Come on these lads ski better than 97% of all skiers, so show some respect.

What the heck are you talking about? Tentative and clumsy turns? lucky neither of them fell?? They are both pretty good athletes. You ever been skiing a couloir? To me it appears you haven't. Therwise you wouldn't make stupid comments like that

he is a bit weak on the end of each turn, i think he was a bit tired from climbing it, also look at the snow kind of heavy, wet, deep. however hes being defensive which is a good thing. nice descent!

thats where the fun is though, being out of your depth and you're forced to learn good technique as well.

Well of course this is not waistdeep Alaskan powder, this is a real alpine descent, with far more serious consequences than most lines that are videoed. At the top of a few thousand feet of 50 degrees, cautious turns are normal. What is a boader, BTW ;-)?

I would say that they both did a fine job. It is nice to see a real ski mountaineering video for a change. I've done snowboard descents that were far slower than this, especially when over 55 degrees, or hard snow. Good job boys!
