DISH Network: EchoStar XV Satellite Launch

DISH Network celebrated its second successful satellite launch this year when EchoStar XV soared into spacefrom the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan at 2:40 p.m. ET on July 10, 2010. EchoStar XV adds to the industry's largest fleet of satellites beaming the most HD channels at the best value possible.

I'm surprised that Dish Network would launch another satellite, what with the trend of both Dish & DirecTV deciding instead to lease extra transponders on conventional medium-power Ku-band FSS-class satellites to carry extra channels of programming, received by the new "SuperDish" dishes for Dish Net, and the newer 'Slimline" & "Sidecar" dishes for DirecTV (both capable of both FSS and DBS reception). Kind of a throwback to PrimeStar in the 1990s, which was strictly FSS-delivered....

The Customer Service at Dishnetwork sucks, I am just switching to Direct Tv and Dishnetwork is charging me to return all the equipment, I guess Dishnetwork don't tell that to people in their TV commercials, it's ridiculous to be paying to return Dishnetwork heavy equipment,,,,,,
