It's like the two voices spend the song competing: You're constantly aware of both, but both dominate eachother at times: It makes the song a lot more haunting and beautiful than it would have been if it was just Lightbody's, or if Wainwright and him sang in perfect harmony. Listen to Martha sing "Lay down on the cold ground" more prominently, and Gary's voice take over on the next line, and you'll see what I mean. One brilliant piece of music.

The actor of audience response video is gorgeous. How does it not have more plays?

Currently writing two stories. One in which a young man spits in the eyes of fate, to save the terminally ill girlfriend he just met... with the help of a city-sized starship and its sickbay. (I -am- a dude... still poignant, tho.) The other is about a couple in love who live half a world apart... But with superpowers. Meet by moonlight, hugging, hovering over the Atlantic. Hee..

I...Both of these two singing is unbearable to listen to...and yet I love the song and the singing... I think this works because they have such contrasting voices, and they're both fighting against each other.

duh, except for the "bar", they say there are drunk people in the first bar so it must be a pub.

The song is about a long distance relationship[4] and its lyrics talk of a couple involved in one: ("I'm miles from where you are") and their longing to be together again ("I pray that something picks me up/ And sets me down in your warm arms"). After their long journey to meet each ("After I have travelled so far") they would settle down in front of an electric bar fire ("We'd set the fire to the third bar") and enjoy being together and warm

Everytime I listen to this song it reminds me of someone I can't forget. He's still sometimes on my mind.. even in my dreams.
