Terry Tong's hard-hitting, gritty, brawly gunplay actioner remains an important pre-cursor to what was to come later in the 80s. Listen to find out why I think so.

I've always wanted to see this film,'cause I love these tough, gritty 1980's HK thrillers, but Coolie Killer is still kind of hard to find on DVD. I couldn't understand some of what you were saying due to your accent, but I appreciated it (and besides,I like accents anyway). Plus I like anything with Charlie Chin in it, because he was such a hottie. Just saw him in THE IMP, which was also a classic. This has got me interested enough to start looking for it again, though. Thanks a lot!

Thank you for your feedback. It certainly is a hard to find dvd (hard to shell out a lot for it and the vcd) and Charlie Chin early HK roles like this and The Imp are classics. No Taiwan romance or melodrama here. And I always try to work on the audio/video review format and get my pronounceiation correct and clear. It's a pretty low-tech operation this, in both regards. ;) Best /Ken

Hey,
cheers, man. Glad you enjoy it and that my feeble intentions travel. :) This was a particularly enjoyable review as I'm a fan of this era.
