  • St Martin, St Martin, St Martin rode through wind and snow,

His horse so fast with him did go.

St Martin rode through weather rude

His cloak around him warm and good.

St Martin, St Martin, in snow there sat a beggar near

With cold his eye so full with tears

“Please help me Martin in my need

Or I shall die- my word do heed!”

  • ich kann's bloß sehr schlecht verstehen. kenne nicht alle Vokabeln in Englisch. sorry! Aber sehr gut vorgesungen!!

  • Thank you very much :-)

  • Thanks for posting this and your Martinmas blog, Anne. It's Chad's bday tomorrow and this is THE perfect way to celebrate it, I thought - focusing on an exemplar of heroic virtue, instead of focusing on himself on his birthday :) . We'll be learning this song today so we can sing it tomorrow night, with all our St Martin lanterns, of course! And that cloak cake cut with a sword - excellent idea!! Thanks again & God bless! - Cyndee

  • Where can I find the the words to this?

  • thank you for doing this annie - we are all enjoying listening and singing along ready for our lantern walk.
