I am not that proficient at sword play, but I wonder if it would be safer if the blade was higher during the jodan block. I would also like to know how you managed the finger roll. I was experimenting with it and I nearly dropped the bokken

when drawing in a reverse grip and doing a figure 8 with reverse grip you slip the handle inbetween the 4 main fingers and you basically roll it over the one main middle finger once. just play with it and see if you can get it if not i may make a vid on how to do it cause others have wanted to learn it but keep trying ok

I must have watched your hands move a thousand time, I guess I'm kinda slow. Is the tsuka going behind your hand to start the roll?

if you have msn send me a personal message and i can show you live on cam and teach you it ok. send your live email. if you have it. if not when i am in reverse grip in figure 8 and sword is on right side i let handle go between the 2nd and 3rd finger from little finger and then tsuka wraps around the middle finger once and you are back in reverse grip. hope that helps

Sir, I have watched 1 through 8, 8 directions of cut, and mountainous sword style in nature and have not seen the finger roll in slow motion, and is there something I'm missing. Thanks for your time. Joe

i would have to say your stance is too wide when you step you couldnt possibly be ready to evade an attack from there also i noticed your draw is kind of sloppy you need to learn fluid movement without telegraphing if your a true martial artist youl know what i mean i also believe the confined space of your apartment hammpers your ability to employ tchniques properly. do you live near and parks? they are perfect for training

hey, any tips if I have a large, heavy katana? It's quite a bit too long and I need to get some tips so I can go to a competition at an anime con. I'm not actually using a sword or katana, but if you can give me some tips as if it were a katana, I'd love that

I have to admit it, I just tried it a few times and I dropped it. I have not really learned as much about the execution of these sword passes as I have about the combat applications, so it is something of a change for me, to make the blade do that and I find it easier it the sword is steel.
