  • @daveandy1 Being the original poster of the "trimming" comment I'd like to respond. I am a 2004 C-182T owner for the past almost 4 years. Prop pitch has absolutely nothing to do with "trimming" an engine, which is a non-existant concept anyway. Prop is set at "HIGH RPM - FULL IN" for engine start. Cruise climb or en route cruise is the only time you adjust the prop. You ALWAYS want full RPM for start-up and take-off. Perhaps you are thinking of having the engine "squared" which something else.

  • @manny298 I'd actually thought most student pilots are taught this from the beginning.

  • If the engine is cold on a C182 prime for 7 to 8 seconds before starting wait 5 seconds... That will insure aircraft will start the first time everytime. Free tip from an Unemployed aircraft mechanic...

  • il give anyone who can trim an engine $40

  • @tj1234542 yeah, no doubt. Don't think the guy is a pilot at the beginning of the video.

  • boner engaged!!

but i dont think the mixtures were set properly, according to the sound..

  • what were those aircraft running in the backround?

  • For those inquiring about trimming the engine, what they are referring to is the prop pitch. It is adjusted to control the engine's RPM, as well as improve engine performance at higher altitudes.

  • @Thomtom701 lol XD funny stuff bro!

  • @tj1234542 makes me think about a humorous video in which the captain explains at a flight attendant that one of the buttons on the overhead panel is "used to extend the flaps of the leading edge along the aircraft's fuselage" xD
