the most scary ting about this is that the background is black and white and yes this music is quite disturbing but more sad if u read the description of marowak and his mother.... so sad even though its jsut a game :O.... btw my friend told be about this and he was reading some kind of history thing and he researched marowak and cubone and apparently when marowaks mother was murdered cubone took the mother skull and used it as a helmet to hide his sorrow face..

I don't actually get why people think the music is scary, okay, it's weird and kind of creepy, but it doesn't actually scare me. I played pokemon r/b and know the lavender town story, but I'm just not scared. Well, apart from when I see that fucking video in the suggestions bar with the possessed jigglypuff.

I'm 14, and iv'e heard the story about the marowak and ghost and all. (while the music was playing) When I read the description, I was reminded of it and at first I was like aww, thats sad :( then I read AZNpeopleROCK1's comment and I was almost in tears but not quite. Later though my hair would uncontrollably stand, I had chills every where and tears coming to my eye. Then I felt weak, nauseous, scared. I had to play a video of Jesus to feel better. Id say there IS some truth to the pitch rumor

I feel like this music would be great to go insane to. :D

It's the older version of the tune that had the high note- that version was replaced when some of the game's first players suffered the negative effects. It was replaced with a tune that sounded exactly the same, but the note was a little lower. Nobody else suffered from the freakish 'Lavender Town Syndrome' after the music was changed... unless they found the origional version on Youtube, but most of them were prepared so recovered quickly.
LOL, no. I heard this track when I was a kid, and since then, I don't have any headaches or suicidal thoughts.
Besides the music isn't scary. It's sad.
