  • @mxikna No apologies needed for your English - we're glad to help if we can! Yes, regular masking tape was used in this demo, but it was not down for very long. The tape is lifted right after application. We would generally recommend painters tape, which is usually blue or green, to avoid the issues of residue or pulling off part of your surface.

  • What kind of tape are you using? is it a special kind? cause at school I try a masking tape and when I peal off, or take a part , the tape stil part of the surface... sorry about my bad english XD

  • @SuzetsStudio Hi Suzet - Sorry to hear you are having some problems. Have you tried coating the Crackle Paste after cracking with one of our mediums or GAC 500? As for why it cracks sometimes and not others, there are so many variables that it would be best to troubleshoot it via email rather than these comment boxes. You can contact us at:

    techsupport(at)goldenpaints(dot)com

We will definitely work with you to solve this. And yes, if you can attach a photo that is always helpful!

  • @shysterlicious GAC 500 is one of our specialty polymers, which you can read about at our website: goldenpaints(dot)com/products/medsadds/polymers/index(dot)php You should be able to find it carried at any of the art stores, or online retailers, that stock a broad selection of our products. You can also contact our Customer Service Department to help locate it. Just go to the contact page on our website for their information.

  • What is GAC-500 and where can I purchase it?

  • I have used the crackle paste on hard substrates and it still popped off. It was primed with GAC 500. I like the smaller cracks so I apply it thin. Sometimes I don't get cracks and other times it cracks off. What am I doing wrong? Would it help if you saw a photo?
