  • Hi Tom, i got it now, I can do full F chord, but while I was practicing the muscle between my thumb and index finger got tumefy, and a kind of bigger, and it hurts a little bit. Is it normal?

  • @leejuenkam I think the muscle is just developing, the pain should stop about 2 minutes after you hold a barre chord. It should feel like a muscle ache after working out in the gym.

  • thanks for free lessons. It's really helpfull. I have a question. I'm beginner. I am playing guitar more than month, adn I've learnt all open chords, minor seventh chords etc, and I can do barre chord anywhere, but on the first fret. On the 2nd fret it's realy easy for me, but first is so hard. Do I just need to practice barre on the first fret, or on the other frets where I can to them easily?

  • @leejuenkam Wow, you're really progressing fast if you can do barre chords after just 1 month, that's really quick. It usually takes several months...

So with that said, just keep on practicing the barre chords, your hand will get stronger, and eventually, you'll have it. Also, it's worth noting that barre chords are much easier on electric guitars than acoustic guitars.

  • tom i can do it now!!!!!!!!!!! :D i`m so happy by the way do u have a facebook ?

  • @2lwa7esh Good job! :-)

Yep, I have a facebook account, but don't really use it actively...

  • fucking hell, how quiet did you record??

  • these are be best lessons on the site in my opinion, tom fontana's tabs are the easiest and clear to understand too, i'm a lefty. took me ages with these barre chords, the thumb was killing for ages. but suddenly and after lots of repetition you'll be doing it like its second nature.

  • tom how can i contact u?

  • @2lwa7esh I'm not gonna lie, it is hard for beginners at first, but the more you practice it, the easier it gets. You need to work towards it, and you'll be doing barre chords naturally, without even thinking about them. It takes time, but everyone had to learn this stuff, including Eric Clapton, Slash, Santana, so all of your favorite guitarists started out just like you...
