In the dark days of the Cold War, communist Bulgaria fortified its border with Turkey, which was a member of the rival NATO alliance, by embedding scores of Soviet and Nazi tanks in a network of concrete bunkers.
The bunkers have been abandoned for years.
In 2004, Bulgaria joined NATO. The old German panzers were left rusting and all but forgotten. Many of them fell prey to scrap metal hunters, who, in many cases, have left little but the chassis of a tank intact.
More info to come.

  • @EnemyofGeorgia Not as hard as you think. The allies used 75mm ammo and since at the time they were allied with the soviet union they had the plans still and stockpile for the guns, British, american, canadian, german, russian, all used 75mm shells. wouldent be that hard. the JP4 though could be hard to find.

  • what happened to those T-34's that Bulgaria was still using in the late 90's?

  • old start cold start anyboddy?

  • If I had the money I would buy all of them and try to restore what is possible, americans and british cherish every nut and bolt from WW2 tanks but german tanks were left to rotten even though they were superior to allied tanks, the brain washing against nazis made by the jews is horrendous, it sickens me to my stomach.

  • were is the location of the tanks because i have an apertment in bg:)

  • This is priceless, and so are those relics, especially the complete Mk4 panzers with the gun. WW2 German armor is so rare, and I had no idea that they were using those as pill boxes. Must have been a nightmare finding the ammo for those guns. Some were rare Stug 3 or 4 tank destroyers, one was a jagpanzer 4 tank destroyer, I saw at least one Hetzor, and the rest were Soviet T-34 76 and 85 models. Those moron scrap dealers had no idea the value those things were worth. Foolish to cut them up.

  • hahaha, obviously they dont have gypsies in that village-otherwise would be long ago cutt and sold for scrap metal :)

  • make a map of all this it will attract tourist

  • нахуя так глубако закапывали

  • Fuck these looters...

    RESTORE SOMETHING.
