This video shows how our thermal mass windows keep cool with solar shades installed. These solar shades are being developed to compliment the thermal mass windows, but have a much wider appeal to any home that experiences large solar gains during the summer.

  • Larger eaves would shade the windows more, but not completely and do not allow for shading in the early morning and late afternoon. theses shades block out nearly 100% of the unwanted sunlight.

  • Why didn't you make an overhang to block some summer sunlight but let in winter sunlight?

  • question,wouldn't larger eaves shade windows in the summer,but allow sun to hit windows in the winter,due to the change in angle of the sun? nice job on the house and updates are nice.thanks;
