As you walk around the piece, a combination of forced perspective and shading produces a strong 3D effect, but not as your mind expects. It appears I am moving to my left around the picture, but I am actually moving right. You can see this by watching the frame. It is similar to the white reverse busts in Disney's Haunted House.

The statement in the video that the piece is in the British Museum is incorrect, it is, as labeled, in the British Library..
