@yuanw1122 You can! But a thrown shuriken is at the least a distraction. If it hits you, it may not incapacitate you but it's going to hurt you, and that pain will most likely distract you as well. The deadly part comes more from a poisoned shuriken, or as in the days before tetanus shots, a light wound from a rusty shuriken could easily prove lethal. So in effect, shurikens are distractions with the extra bonus of pain and possibly death.

if you have an old pan lying around you can easily cut one out of the metal.

i did it myself but it didnt work because i used an aluminium pan, so make sure you use an iron one

If shurikens are supposed to be distractions, cant you just grab pebbles from the ground and chuck them at the enemy?
