Joplin Missouri Tornado Damage on July 30, 2011 Part 1

While visiting Parsons, we took a side trip to look at the tornado damage in Joplin, Missouri. We approach the damage on Main St. Two months after the tornado, the damage still looks severe, but much cleanup work has already taken place, and some rebuilding is already ongoing. The damage was breathtaking, unlike anything I had ever seen before, and was very depressing to look at. I can not imagine what it must have been like to be there when the tornado hit. Lets hope for a speedy recovery for the people of Joplin and that they will never have to face a disaster like this again.
