Malaysia International Dive Expo 2008 Third Edition

Kuala Lumpur, 4 July 2008 -- The Malaysia International Dive Expo (MIDE) 2008 was officiated by YB Datuk Hj Za'abar bin Dato' Haji Mohd Adib, Tourism Chairman of Terengganu State; together with honorable guests YBhg Dato' Mirza Mohammad Taiyab, Director General of Malaysian Tourism Promotion Board; YBhg Dato' Mukhriz Tun Mahathir, President of the Malaysian Sport Diving Association and Dato' Danny Ooi, of the Malaysian Book of Records, at the Putra World Trade Centre today, marking the third edition since its first inception into the scene in 2006. Running for three days, MIDE 2008 will be on till 6 July 2008.

On the scene to grace the event was a school of kids from the Scuba Rangers' programme ranging from 8 years of age to 12 years of age who engaged the crowd with their oath of commitment to the safety of the sport. Syed Abdul Rahman, an Instructor Trainer, has received an award for being the largest certification of scuba kids in the world.

The National Art Gallery also showcased their recent effort to get the children of Mabul island to paint the Longest Underwater Children's Painting which was done by breathhold diving, setting yet another record.

MIDE 2008 has become the meeting point for local and international exhibitors to capitalise on networking opportunities with prospective distributors. Besides being a "must-attend" event for trade visitors, MIDE 2008 is also an exciting exhibition where divers and water-sports enthusiasts can look forward to great dive deals, value for money product, packages, attending seminars and related topics.
