Chai Yu-fung, a master swordsman, heads a fighting society and is well
known as a defender of the poor and oppressed. On a dark night, he is
attacked by his enemies and is saved from death by his servant who is
himself killed. As a mark of gratitude, Chai takes his dead servant's
young son, Fong Kong as a student member of his society.

Ten years pass. Chai, thinking of retiring, announces that he will
shortly appoint Fong Kong as lieutenant-in-charge of the society. This
sparks resentment in Chai's spoilt daughter, Chi Pei, and two other
members of the society, Sun Ho and Shek I-fai. The three attack Fong Kong
and he loses his right arm, slashed by a sword wielded by Chi Pei. .....
