  • The following is a list of Obama's achievments....

  • FACT - The Urban Institute Brookings Institution Tax Policy Center analyzes the McCain and Obama tax policies and calculates that McCains proposals would cut taxes by $628 billion over 10 years, while Obamas would raise them by $734 billion over the same period. [337]

Obamas list of accomplishments in the U.S. Senate consists of getting two bills passed: one to send foreign aid to the Congo and another to name a post office.

  • All these stats prove is that the income tax has accomplished its goal of progressivity. That is not really true for a host of reasons but lets just assume it to be so. Switch focus of the discussion to how little current taxation fails to make the distinction between earned and unearned incomes and then we might have something of substance to talk about. Both left and right do not want to talk about these things because it would force them to get off their mistaken ideological positions.

  • The discussion about tax policy would be well served if we demanded that our governments tax only unearned incomes and values created only by the community so that there would be no penalty to individual effort, labor, or to productive investment, capital. Labor and capital earn their incomes while land does not. Land value is 100% created by the community and is therefore the ideal source of revenue for public purposes. Start by untaxing improvments and increasing the tax on land value.

  • great article written on heritage called "The Truth About Tax Rates and The Politics of Class Warfare"

in this piece and I quote "According to the IRS, the top 1 percent of income earners pay nearly 35 percent of the income tax burden; the top 10 percent pay 65 percent; and the top 25 percent pay nearly 83 percent."

So if a guy like Obama thinks taxing the rich more will be more effective, then he needs to go back to school. The government is slow and more money to them is cancer...
