Consumer Watchdog Founder Harvey Rosenfield on Healthcare Reform

Harvey Rosenfield, founder of the advocacy group Consumer Watchdog, accepts the "Speaking Truth to Power" Award at the California Nurses Association/National Nurses Organizing Committee Convention held in San Francisco in September, 2009. As part of his acceptance speech, Rosenfield speaks eloquently, and passionately, about how he would deal with insurance companies who deny care.

Trained as a public interest lawyer, Rosenfield authored Proposition 103 to regulate insurance companies and protect consumers, and has co-authored groundbreaking initiatives on HMO reform. He is the author of the book, "Silent Violence, Silent Death: The Hidden Epidemic of Medical Malpractice."
