  • I agree with nilzor - that was the most brilliant rebuttal I've seen in years. Good luck

  • who cares about which theory is correct. All we have to realize is that religion is for bunch of RETARDS.

  • "with the development of advanced mathematical astronomy, the chances of the earth forming out of the big bang and then life developing and evolving into human life is essentially zero."

Wrong. Intentionally misrepresenting science is one of the main tactics of supporters of the creationism/ID movement. It is dishonest and disengenuous. I don't tolerate thieves or liars.

    Goodbye.

  • "but now you have a much greater burden of proof in your lap."

So you're saying that there is now a much better case for Atheism?

  • I'm fairly familiar with earlier cultures. But, choosing 1850 as an arbitrary rate, is well, quite arbitrary and seems a bit inaccurate. A quick search turned up people publicy claiming atheism several decades earlier.

Any person, in the West anyway, was in great personal danger if they embraced atheism. Certainly there were a lot of people who were atheists who kept quiet about it.

    "i think the window ..."

I don't know what that's supposed to mean.

  • " until 150 years ago, every person in every culture everywhere believed in afterlife "

Proof? So you don't think there were any atheists before 150 years ago?

  • Ha, Ha. Poop.

  • I don't get it...

  • Simple replicating chemicals were the precursor to life. If you want modern examples of replicating chemicals that are not, or are not yet life, look at viruses or prions. Also, consciousness is directly linked to the brain. Those with brain damage have altered personalities. So no, there probably isn't an afterlife, since who you are is your brain.

  • Funny thing, organic life doesn't start from inorganic material. This was discovered quite a few centuries ago, I believe. Even before Darwin.

Of course, if you mean originally, like when life was first formed, you may have a point. I believe that God sort of arranged everything in the first place, like a line of dominos, and then just tipped over the first one and let it go from there by itself.
