Forrest Griffins wife was having a baby as this fight took place. Thats gotta be a HUGE mental burden to bring into a fight with such a dealy opponent like Shogun.

I always liked Forrest. He's the kind of guy that is always laid back, and always finds the brightest sides to things. I don't fucking carer what happened during the Anderson fight, he's still a fucking true warrior and never gives up. So respect for Forrest.

we have seen how poorly shogun performs after getting knee surgery, and forest hasn't been the same fighter since anderson silva. Forrest was the frankie edgar for lhw in that he kept coming forward no matter what you threw at him. Forest probably wasn't at 100% in this fight but the out come would have been the same if you ask me.

I'm a HUGE Forrest Fan but He's one of the most overrated fighers out; that's not to say that he should stop fighting I love watching him fight but when you put him in there with big name guys he tends to struggle, would love to see a Forrest - Rampage 2 though.

I have to admit that even I thought Griffin going down looked odd (and I hate mma conspiracy theorists and don't really care too much about Griffin's fights usually).

Anyway a dive wouldn't make too much sense ... I doupt Griffin needs money, or what ever. And the ufc doesn't need shogun that bad.

But, odd things happen in mma. For example one overhand right KO that looked like it barely touched was Bader vs Magalhes. So maybe the shot just clipped Griffin behind the ear.. GnP was real tho.

@cdizzzzle I know but Forrest decided to take the fight and it definitly affected him but it's unfair for Shogun to put him in a immediate rematch with Forrest after knocking him out because of that. If Forrest performes good in his next couple fights than this rematch should happen. But that's just my opinion.
