  • what is the name of that icelandic band???'

  • @94svenni They're not Icelandic. They're French, and the name of the band is "Iceland."

  • Really? I'm gonna say no... It's an open E picked in a fairly simple pattern. How about we compare all the songs that have open E triplets.

  • Triplets? There are no triplets there at all.

  • Actually, it sounds like Disposeable Heroes of Metallica, year:86

  • @otpenagos yea lets talk about dave stealing stuff from metallica.... Love both bands but dude... comon

  • That's what I would call a coincidence

  • @CrackedStyle I'm not sure if you think that's going to challenge my opinions or anything, but yeah, this song's from just after the worst era of Megadeth songs and just before the slightly less shitty era of Megadeth songs. The only Megadeth songs worth assessing for their creativity and musicality came about before '91, with only the very occasional half-exception.

  • @hobodoctor which to me means they shouldve shown a little more creativety than just playing extremely simple open note riffs that take all of 2 seconds to come up with.

  • @CrackedStyle Both of you misunderstood me. It's one note, played in a fairly simple pattern. There's only so many 4/4 patterns that can be made with 8th and 4th notes; there's bound to be tons of identical one-note riffs. I didn't mean that there are triplets in these riffs, I meant to point out how many thousands of sounds have riffs that are just open-E triplets.

I highly doubt Megadeth ever listened to, or had any necessity to ripoff, a failed French band's first demo.

  • @hobodoctor its the exact same pattern, and as misainzig said, there are no triplets.

  • @Misainzig he means the picking GAP that mustiane use allot

  • @Misainzig Listen to Eye of the Beholder from Metallica, same riff, dude, EVERYONE uses that riff.

  • We have Children of the Grave and Disposable Heroes too...

  • I have written alot of rifs and realise that they sound like other songs, actually I re-wrote Children Of The Grave by Black Sabbath once and realised when I heard my whole song, so things like that happen, don't call them instantly rip ofs
