  • its only been 10 some years

  • MCAS El Toro was my 1st duty station (90-94 MWHS - 3, then I worked at the Staff NCO Academy). I figured out what "swinging at the wing" meant when I was with 1/2 at Camp Lejeune. lol! Laguna Beach, Baxters, Cokomo and the infamous Club Metro...lol

  • ITS STILL THERE GUYS WE CAN SAVE IT FROM BECOMING A PARK!!!! AND TEARING IT ALL DOWN CMON GUYS WE CAN SAVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Interesting to see the place that I lived at from 1984 to 1985 and mostly was not happy at is now gone.

Amazing how you can hate a place but yet miss it so much.

MWSG 37 WES 37 Utilities Section.

  • Best duty station in the Wing !

    MABS 37 75-76

    MWSG 37 77-78

I loved you El toro !

  • My father was stationed there from 86-89, Search and Rescue. The times on base, the memories. I can remember riding on his motorcycle with him to base to just hand out while he was off-duty. I always wanted to go back to visit, I guess I will never get the chance now. Good by old friend!

  • RIP El Toro. MALS-11 PP 41L and test cell from 1990-1992.

  • Yes it hurts to see it go. Just another part of my life gone. I was attached to VMFP-3, the many fond memories I have. I would love to see Bks. 450 and a few other spots before it is gone. Will probably never get there.

  • I was there from 88-92 with the DEATHRATTLERS great yesteryear moments

  • That really hurts I was station there from 84-86 and 88-92 I had fond memories for the base I hated up until my EAS.
