MCAS El Toro was my 1st duty station (90-94 MWHS - 3, then I worked at the Staff NCO Academy). I figured out what "swinging at the wing" meant when I was with 1/2 at Camp Lejeune. lol! Laguna Beach, Baxters, Cokomo and the infamous Club Metro...lol

Interesting to see the place that I lived at from 1984 to 1985 and mostly was not happy at is now gone.
Amazing how you can hate a place but yet miss it so much.

My father was stationed there from 86-89, Search and Rescue. The times on base, the memories. I can remember riding on his motorcycle with him to base to just hand out while he was off-duty. I always wanted to go back to visit, I guess I will never get the chance now. Good by old friend!

Yes it hurts to see it go. Just another part of my life gone. I was attached to VMFP-3, the many fond memories I have. I would love to see Bks. 450 and a few other spots before it is gone. Will probably never get there.
