Can you plz tell me how you painted your sidecovers. I really want to do the same thing to my bike but I do not want the paint to rub off with my boots..

@gmanpeterson381 of course when i had asked him if there was a balance issue why not just move the motor a few millimeters in a different direction, he said that is just what the big brains decided to do, the one that i actually agreed with saying it was never a smart idea said if it were up to him he would have made the exaust smaller and kept it to the right to avoid the tire hitting it and making it less restrictive but there are decibel levels in certain races

@shrewiside i have actually had this discussion with a few other people because of curiosity. i have talked to 2 honda racing technicians and one of honda's race team mechanics at an expo in california. when i had asked them why did they decide to do the duel exaust none of them gave me a decent answer some said it helps with balance others said it helped with cost because of lesser materials, the race team mechanic never liked the design because in 06 there was a design flaw with it.

@shrewiside why would you have 2 silencers....instead of 1?
hi crosby, isn't it just a pain!
the only method to keep the finish longer, isn't paint, thats useless, but Powder Coat.
i stripped them back to bare metal, and keyed the surface with about a 240 grit wet n dry paper, then tape plugged any holes, threads and the innner gasket surface etc, and off to a friend of mine who does wheel refurb with powder coat, so i know its tough stuff.
it isn't indestructable, but 10 times stronger than any paint you'll find, and not really any dearer!

wow dual exhaust i call that power loss/ more weight powerloss because of the more bends in the pipe that (very little but non the less) restrict air flow also the added what 5 or more lbs

powerloss? compared to stock, definitely not, is it the best pipe design available, probably not,
weight gain? compared to stock, definitely not, very lightweight actually, titanium material is very light and you can use very thin wall pipe etc due to its strength.
is it the lightest system out there, probaby not
but compared to stock it is better in boith areas by quite some margin.

Hmmm, tough choice really, as most quality aftermarket pipes work with very similar results. I haven't found one that is head n shoulders above the rest, its too close to tell.
This rode very well, but i have another identical model bike that runs a single white brother pipe, which actually feels stronger and snappier through a very large rev range, and i would recomend it easily too.
i know this doesn't precisely help, but it does go a small way to show how close a lot of them are.
