Game Description:
I. Introduction
In the not too distant future, a team of soldiers are sent to the largest research facility in the world; The Lighthouse. Outside of governmental control, and with seemingly infinite wealth -- The Lighthouse is a beacon of possibility. Founded in 1972, the corporation behind the facility quickly grew in to a household name. Producing everything from simple medication to advanced clone soldiers and other genetically altered products. Close to every country in the world is in their debt. And the amount of power they have, both politically and scientifically, is beyond description.

Two years ago, after a series of moral debates on frightening experiments, a revolution took place in the facility. The consequences of this revolution were devastating. And until now nobody knows exactly what happened in the massive underground fortress that is The Lighthouse.

You're about to find out.

II. Genre
Co-op Action Arcade Shoot 'em Up

III. Features
A huge action-packed level with a large roster of enemies
An ongoing story that is well-narrated and interesting
Two character classes, each with their own style
Fantastic Multi-player that fully utilizes the synergy between classes

IV. Gameplay
You and a friend will blast your way through countless enemies whilst navigating through tight corridors and architecturally fantastic underground laboratories.

The action is fast-paced, so you won't want to release the trigger for too long. Enemies will move towards you when they see you, so be weary of your surroundings and make sure to keep your energy loaded.

Using any of your abilities will drain your energy, and in order to reload it you must remain still for a number of seconds. During this time you are extremely vulnerable to enemy attacks and rendered completely useless.

Knowing when and how to use your abilities is a key to success. Particularly in battles against stronger enemies. Teamwork is essential, as the difficulty is completely focused around co-operative play.

The players determine the speed of the game. In order to complete a level you have to move to the end of it, and destroy anything that would block you from getting there. Enemies are placed in static locations throughout the levels, so you will never encounter a ridiculous amount of opponents that will just rip you to shreds. Hopefully.

Make sure that the Assault takes point and kills the enemies, leaving the medic behind to heal him up, and you'll do just fine.

I. Core Mechanics
There are two player resources in The Lighthouse:
Health -- Classic hitpoints. When you are damaged by an enemy your HP goes down. If you run out, you will die.
Energy -- Powers your abilities. Every attack you do will deduct a certain amount of energy. In order to refill this you will have to use the Reload ability. Reloading causes your character to stand still for 3 seconds, stopping you from moving or attacking. It then refills your energy to the max amount. You can not reload if at full energy.

The combat system is further explained in the control scheme.

II. GUI
The graphical interface in The Lighthouse is mainly used to show you what skills you have, how much they cost, when you can use them, and what amount of resources you have at your disposable.

A simple HUD is shown as each side of the screen.

III. Control Scheme
Using a Xbox 360 gamepad your keys will be as follow:

Left Analog stick -- Movement.
Right Analog stick -- Aim.
Left Trigger -- Use Ability
Left Bumper -- Reload Energy
Right Trigger -- Shoot
Right Bumper -- Switch weapon
