HOW did the FARMER cross the RIVER?

1st puzzle:
There's a farmer with a dog, a chicken, and corn. He is planning to cross the river with his boat, but can only carry one across at a time or else the boat will sink. How will he cross the river if you leave the dog with the chicken, the dog will eat the chicken. Also if you leave the chicken with the corn, the chicken will eat the corn.

How will the farmer cross the river safely without losing any of the things he's carrying?

ok, so he takes the chicken over, leaves it there, goes back and gets the corn, takes it across to the chicken, takes the chicken back, and brings the dog back to the corn, and then goes and gets the chicken again.

that was just thinkin off the top of my head, was i right?

the farmer takes across the chicken goes back takes the corn to the chicken takes the chicken back. takes the dog, puts it by the corn, goes back takes the chicken. all three are on the other side.
