you might see some spinning tires and such but these two actors never see them, they walk in and sit down. YOU see all the gizmo's. And when they are done fooling you the first time they play it all again and tell it you again. But these two never look at it like you do. You don't believe Chris Angel Mind Freak is all real? This is an act. And you are the punch line

IMHO this sort of tactic only works on certain people. Partway through, I got a sense that what he wanted me to say was a BMX but as soon as I realized that I could detach and say I wanted something else. It's the same thing as stage hypnosis or other forms of persuasion, certainly you can be made to feel good about something via NLP but if you are self aware, you still maintain choice.

enjourni7:
You are correct that this does not work on everyone, but he was not doing the trick on you. You may have gotten a sense of what he was getting at, but as an outside observer. Simon was immersed in the situation, along with all the props which were carefully placed to aid Derren. Certainly this is not mind control, but rather a form of persuasion, and choice is always there. I think it has a lot to do with how you process information, which is why it works only on some.

this is not mindcontrol. It's hypnosis.

I never claimed it was mind control. I said it is NOT mind control.

I must say I can't HANDLE BARS either. They make me feel DEFLATED. Am I wearing the right aTYRE? I get all PUMPED UP and then realize I'm not in the right GEAR. I left my FLAT and took the TUBE to meet a friend whose a SPOKESperson in a reCYCLING committee. She says someone is trying to FRAME her for PEDDLING second hand horse SADDLES. She RED about it in the papers. Still, those are the BRAKES. I'll BELL you in the morning.

So what did you want for your birthday? "A RED FERARRI!"
