agree, our band plays it much different (the first two parts at the same tempo, third is slower, but "Everybody...", as the final, we used to play in insane tempo - in the end I always have troubles to catch a breath :D)

the low brass (trombones, saxhorns) is enough, the lack of bass is probably due to the quality of used recording device

you're probably writing about the perc. in 3rd part - it's a cowbell :D For me, the tamburino is more annoying.
