Matt's grandfather Tom Smith Sr. plays trombone on a 1970s show with Hal Linden (clarinet), and the legendary Murphy Campo Jazz Saints. The performance took place at Crazy Shirley's on Bourbon Street, New Orleans.

Fantastic upload. I can just imagine Capt. Miller playing at a jazz club to relax after the grave-yard shift but not telling any of his squad about his hobby.

Matt, Wow! What a treat to see Mr. Smith play professionally back when he was younger. I was a student of Mr. Smith's for 5 years through high school. It was a pleasure playing for Mr. Smith during those years. I met your Dad as well in one jazz session; he blew our socks off with that big sound of his. Thank you so much for posting the video, it brought back some great memories.

Great footage, Matt. It's fascinating to see how successful your family was with their musical careers.
