The End of the Line is a powerful film about one of the world's most disturbing problems - over-fishing. Advances in fishing technology mean whole species of wild fish are under threat and the most important stocks we eat are predicted to be in a state of collapse by 2050. The film points the finger at those most to blame, including celebrity chefs, and shows what we can do about it. This is not just a film, it is also a campaign - for sustainable consumption of fish, for marine protected areas to allow the sea to recover, and for a new ethic of responsible fishing.

  • It's easy to feel sad compassionate and very helpless when waching theese kind of enviroment films. I used to try not to think about the seemingly impossible to solve problems in the world. But.. eventually I decited to do what I can and be happy doing my part to take care of our world. I buy as localy produced organic and sustainable food as I can. I pay for green electricity. I walk and ride bike as much as I can. And i will start to fully climate compensate whenever i fly. make a difference!!

  • @jurnalicious1 can I just say that you are correct. We are omnivores but for me, I refuse to eat another living soul because of the way they are killed. I can honestly say that if we were to hunt and kill our own meat, I would eat it. But it's because we kill it for no reason. We should only kill an animal if we are hungry.

  • Enjoy it while it lasts

  • emmm yum sushi yum yum yummy hehehe you have no idea

  • whos that?

  • "preach"is about religion, pastors. "Teach" is sharing info/knowledge.What its saying is Earth is OVERfished due to greed, too many fishing boats etc & has been for a long time.Other creatures need the fish--they cant go to stores like we can to buy alternatives. Why would anyone want to eat something if there's a SHORTAGE of it?

  • Sorry VEGAN, you are wrong. Humans are Omnivores, a simple query on a biological/physiological website can prove that. Or perhaps step back and check mankind's history on the subject. Eating meats also directly associated to mankind's growing brain and cognitive functions. Something I guess you are lacking.

btw - plants feel pain too. Good luck with all your supplements to offset your deficient diet.

  • Actually, they are also full of PAH's, if you expose them to high temperatures, which cause bowel cancer. 1 in 4 people will get bowel cancer, whether they know it or not and 80% could be prevented by diet, the largest step of which is eliminating PAH's from your diet. Just one of many cons, ignoring the fact that the fish is probably filled with toxins before you cook it. So no, cooked meat or fish is not part of your natural diet and you don't need it.
