The End of the Line is a powerful film about one of the world's most disturbing problems - over-fishing. Advances in fishing technology mean whole species of wild fish are under threat and the most important stocks we eat are predicted to be in a state of collapse by 2050. The film points the finger at those most to blame, including celebrity chefs, and shows what we can do about it. This is not just a film, it is also a campaign - for sustainable consumption of fish, for marine protected areas to allow the sea to recover, and for a new ethic of responsible fishing.

Don't eat fish, you don't need it. People are literally destroying the oceans for money, money is for keeping track of things, money isn't able to replace food, remember that when you miss the taste of fish from going vegan, or you'll miss the taste of meat because everyone overused everything and it's gone.

Overfishing is indeed a big problem. Especially when they use tools for massive fishing, and then they dispose non-profit fish.

I agree. Overfishing shouldn't be made into an emotional issue. Plus, a recent(ish) paper authored primarily by two of the scientists featured in this clip, using only stocks for which accurate data existed, showed that while most stocks were at very low biomasses through historic overfishing, a majority were currently being harvested at levels that would allow recovery. It seems that for these stocks, at least, we should see an increase over time under current fishing levels.
