the "native american aesthetic?" really? (I assume that means you think I'm pretty, which I will take as a compliment ;)) seriously though, y'all at Threadbanger (I'm looking at you, Mr. Kate) need to think about the cultural appropriation you've been doing with these cutesy "indian-looking" crafts. it's racist and offensive.

She didn't cover tying off the end. lol

how do you tie it off in the centre???

How do you tie off the end of the thread you were using for knotless netting? Loop it through a bead? It was great to see the technique, I'm excited to try it.

how do u close it off in the center???

@kickinbackinmychair I just made my first dream-catcher and all I did was start to bisect the next line, but instead of wrapping it, I just tied the end to where it would have wrapped had I wanted to keep going, and then cut off the excess. I did mine a little differently, I wrapped the hoop in dyed leather and used hemp twine for the webbing, and the hemp does a wonderful job of gripping itself if you bear down on the knot.
im confused...why doesn't anybody show knots and be more explanatory rather than just showing look what i made...UGH I NEED HELP LOL-i can't tie off my dreamcatcher at the end of the web?? and i used senew and the webbing you showed is done differently then the other vid i watched....im totally stressing out now.

@kickinbackinmychair I verbally walk you and show you, step-by-step, through knotless netting in this video. Turn the volume up and listen to the steps of knotless netting starting at 1:10 and it will make sense. -Meg

Also, question.
I want to use this metal hoop that I own that was formerly the metal ring around an old globe. I want the metal of it to be visible on my dreamcatcher, so do I have to do the first step of wrapping it in twine for all the other steps to work? Or can I forgo it in the name of style?

@TiltingatWindmillz the rough surface of the wrapping helps anchor your web threads, so it might be hard to anchor them around a metal ring unless it's textured. Try it and see!
