If you want to see the best of the program, search for "School of Rock Midwest All-Stars". They are the best from all the regional schools, they have two weeks to form a band, and then they go out and tour. Or look for the movie ":Rock School" (the documentary, NOT the Jack Black movie). In that, the head of the school winds up taking his very best kids to play Zappa songs at Zappanale in Germany - and they get a standing ovation from Napolean Murphy Brock and other Zappa players.

@Bill22675 I didn't take the comment as rude, just trying to give some context to the video. I'm at the back of the venue, shooting video. For all I know, the guitar teachers are off stage with a tuner making sure everyone is tuned before they step on stage - but most shows, they have to serve as a roadie for the younger kids, untangling cables, sorting out switchboxes and tracking down hums. The players are constantly changing, with as many as 30 players in one night.

@Bill22675 I'm not a teacher, I'm a videographer and a fan of the program. But the teachers are all professional musicians, and teach good habits from everything I've seen. I honestly don't recall where in this show this song appeared, and if it was later, there might have been a bit of pressure to just play rather than tweak.
As I said, look through my other School of Rock videos. I have a bunch on this account, and a lot more on my other MidwestConcertVideos account.

@kcconcertvideo all i said was the guitarist needs to practice a little more. I am sorry i am not an asshole or anything but i did make a comment and it wasnt a rude comment. it was just letting them know that they need to practice more. trust me i play guitar and keyboards. and if i am not checking out live bands in clubs i am practicing with my own band, and playing clubs. but i aint gonna sit here and have you tell me there is no time for tone tweaking or tuning a guitar. Lazy

@kcconcertvideo i understand it is an after school program. that is all cool and everything but do you think maybe it would be good for them to learn how to stay on time with each other while playing their instruments. it is very important you know...maybe instead of plugging the guitars and everything into one amp you can get more amps instead of just one...you say no time for tone tweaking but if you want them to sound good you would get that stuff for them.

@kcconcertvideo excuse me??? are you serious??? so what you are saying there is no time to tune a guitar?? come on man it takes all of 5 minutes to tune a guitar... well if there is no time to plug in a pedal than i guess that all these real musicians or local bands that play at clubs dont have the time to plug in all their equipment. come on now. i understand that it is kids and stuff but you might want to teach them right instead of half assed!!!

@kcconcertvideo To follow myself up, the average SoR show is two hours and 24 songs. They get on and off stage fairly quickly, and learn great habits. I shot one show where someone accidentally hit the "blackout" button on the lighting console plunging the whole stage into darkness. They didn't miss a NOTE. The lights came back on, and the kids were rocking out the same as they started. No primadonnas here!

@Bill22675 Just so you know, this is a school. Specifically and after-school program, and the kids put on a series of concerts at the end of the season. If you look through my other videos, you'll find that all of the kids get better, as they should. As for the pedals, there may be a dozen kids playing guitar in a show, all sharing the same pair of amps...so there is no time for "tone" tweaking.
the singer with the blue framed sunglasses fucking rocks!!! the girl singing with the blonde hair is the one who is off key...

@Bill22675 Summer has turned into a really amazing singer. But the goal of the School of Rock is to get everyone on stage. The more experienced kids mentor the less experienced and everyone gets better.
