@junjorxful thank u for respecting my opinion. i cant rmbr what i said but i do know that powerful singing is not the ony guage of a better singer. look to the taiwan melody awards (the grammys for chinese pop) for instance. most of the winners of best female singers are not known for their powerful vocals but their ability to stir up emotions. so... i hope u can see why there is no point in disputing who is better.

@fredongcm iI'd respect ur opinion, but in most cases generally the one that could sing powerfully and with intensity ranging vocals are usually the better singer over the other, vocal quality is the common thing of all singers it matters the most who render the song in a challenging way and in undisputable vocal power. Regine oviously is better technically than Sandy in this song cos Regine used her natural voice in the highest part/climax of the song. misery------------------------

MAGANDA RIN ANG BOSES NI SANDY SO CLEAR...BUT WITH POWER AND INTENSITY I'LL GO FOR REGINE.

you would have to be deaf to say that sandy lam's version is better. so, i feel like this comparison is unfair and mean! sandy lam sings flat and soul-less on a song that demands emotional intensity. and the guy who is singing 'how could an angel breaky my heart' in a middle of an iconic 80s song made it a little bit laughable! lol

Regine rules!!!

though i appreciate other asian artists like sandy lam, malaysia's jacklyn victor, korea's So Hyang and indonesia's Anggun.... i cannot compare regine velasquez with other singers even with our charice pempengco because Regine is our priceless artists....back in the eighties, she was the only one who can sing with a combination of soft voice and power
no point comparing dudes
the two singers interpreted the song differently
in my opinion Sandy sang out the subtle sorrow in the song
while regine's version is more powerful
it just depends on what you prefer
so , dun fight lol

I listen to both Chinese and English songs. Sandy's rendition is more tender and has the element of vulnerability that makes you feel the song (I can still feel it while writing and btw, Sandy is capable of reaching the whistle register). Regine's rendition is more powerful and the refrain has a lot of dynamics and emotional punch. I like both singers. For a cross between a Filipino and a Chinese, check out the wonderful and soulful Teresa Carpio. Have you heard of her?
