New Song (not Professor Longhair remake) Thanks for listening
Artist: Blue Jean
Writer/Producer: Bryan Leger
Title: Mardi Gras in New Orleans
Lyric:
Bourbon Street's still the same
People in the quarter don' never change
Keep on playin, keep on dancin'
Party just as long as they can
Katrina tore down the city
But we gon' build it up again
Hold back the water let the sunshine in
It's Mardi Gras in New Orleans
Mardi Gras in New Orleans
Things are gettin so much better
Life is gettin so much easier
We just got to pull together
Don't it make you feel good
You know what I mean
Don't it make you feel like a Zooloo King now
To-to de Mardi Gras
To-to de Mardi Gras
To-to de Mardi Gras
To-to de Mardi Gras
Come on down to the city
The party don' never end
Let your hair down, put away that frown
It's Mardi Gras in New Orleans
Mardi Gras in New Orleans
Walk down Rampart
You can see, lots of real people like you and me
Came out of no-where, after the storm
Gonna keep us out of harm
We might get the big one tomorrow
Or maybe fifty years
Let the Brees keep trowin'
Let the Saints keep scorin'
It's Mardi Gras in New Orleans
Mardi Gras in New Orleans
Things are gettin so much better
Life is gettin so much easier
We just got to pull together
Don't it make you feel good
You know what I mean
Don't it make you feel like a Zooloo King now
To-to de Mardi Gras
To-to de Mardi Gras
To-to de Mardi Gras
To-to de Mardi Gras

Mardi Gras In New Orleans
Concept:
Depict the sound and spirit of a New Orleans blues group in the atmosphere of a Mardi Gras Parade.
Performance:
A medium tempo, funky rhythm and blues song with a party atmosphere. The lyric attempts to capture some of the feelings and observations of the people of New Orleans during the renascence years following the catastrophic hurricane Katrina.
Chant: To-To de Mardi Gras
As remembered from early childhood (1946) in rural south Louisiana, the chant was sung to the writer by his Dad. "To-To de Mardi Gras" was the name of a mysterious masked person taking part in a Mardi Gras celebration on horseback. The masked horsemen traditionally collected chickens, which were brought to one of their homes for a community gumbo for the last feast before Lent.
Performers:
Writer "Bryan Leger" and artist "Jean Guillet" were born and raised in Louisiana and currently live in the Lake Charles area. The track was recorded at 11th Street Studio in Lake Charles with Eric Sylvester as engineer. The following musicians performed on the recording: Thom Hager, Drums; Jay Ecker, Bass; Chester Daigle, Bryan Leger, Piano; Tim McMillen, Trombone; Rick Condit, Tenor Sax; Kevin Stone Trumpet; Jean Guillet, LeadVocal; Jean, Bryan, Mac Love Chant Vocals; Mac Love Percussion.
Objective:
Documentation of a style of music created by south Louisiana musicians and enjoyed by blues loving people throughout the world.
Writer/Producer Notes:
Special thanks to "Eric Sylvester" for a great job in the studio and locating and scheduling the most appropriate musicians for this performance. Also special thanks to the musicians who were most creative and a joy to work with. Life is good when everyone enjoys the creation of the tune and the desired outcome is achieved.
Artwork:
Thanks to Kathy Harbison for the great job on the cover artwork.
Future Productions:
New songs from "Bryan's Tunes" will be produced and released as singles. This will allow digital downloads to be acquired without waiting for a complete album. We hope you enjoy our music and look forward to our new releases.
