@vlock1 yeah, it's kinda weird how people do what they are told, what's gas (Irish vernacular for funny/amusing) is In Utero contains references to this very susceptibility in the masses. Ah well. JL top live band I've ever seen.

@HerBlackWings12 Dude, people were barely ready for Nirvana. I mean, beyond Nevermind. I'll never forget hearing how unlistenable In Utero was that whole summer before it came out - christ, NME would have had you think it was more caustic than early Einsturzende Neubauten. And then it came out, and it was pretty much a pop record. Most people will NEVER like music like this. Fuck it, all the more for us, you know?

I don't understand how Nirvana made it so big and The Jesus Lizard didn't. Don't get me wrong, Nirvana is good, but really fuckin' overrated!
