@kayteeohya No, I do not do body work, but I know what your talking about. If you drove into the rope, yes it may not cause too much damage. If you floor it at the rope that's a different story. There's a big possibility it will scratch and maybe even show metal especially if there was small rocks and sand in the rope, which it most likely has.

@PandaMagicFTW Even if it dragged across the car, more than likely it wouldn't break all the way through the clear coat. Wet sand with 600 grit, wet sand with 1000 grit, buff out the scratches. How old are you? Do you do body work? If you did, you'd know what you were talking about. Nice try. I'm done.

Once the rope hits your car, it will slide over the hood and over the roof, and you would need the whole car repainted because no matter how good the mechanic is new paint will always be at least half a shade different than old paint. If you just repaint the damaged areas, it will look slightly off. How old are you? Do you have a car? If you do, you should know this.
