Walk for Hunger: Take 2

My experience and tips for the Walk for hunger from my previous year 2010.

At the beginning of the New Year people feel like it's the time to change, make a difference or better themself, but why wait until the New Year? If you think about the future too much, you forget about the present. It doesn't matter what you could have done better, what matters is what you are doing now. Whether you are donating $5 or $25, you will be bringing a smile and chance for a healthy life.

On Sunday, May 1st 2011 I will be participating in my 2nd walk for hunger. I hope that you will support me in my efforts to raise money to help end hunger in Massachusetts! Hand in hand we can make a difference!

Why am I walking? Because many Massachusetts families are seeing their monthly income stretched beyond capacity. They are forced to go without food in order to pay their rent, utility, and medical bills. The demand for emergency food has never been greater with pantries and meal programs supported by Project Bread served 57.3 million meals last year alone. Hunger is not just an urban problem: it exists in nearly every community throughout the state.

The money that we raise by walking will directly help hungry people. Funds raised through the Walk support more than 400 emergency food programs in 135 communities statewide.
