My wife and I have a Shiba(Kaerue) and a Boxer(Lola) and they are the best of friends. We got the Lola and Kaerue two days apart. Kaerue seems to be the more dominant out of the two at times. The boxer tends to want to just play.

the shiba is all relaxed and then the boxer butts in and
bothers her!!!!!!!

Every single Shiba is different! Ours we call, "The mutant" since she is very outgoing and a lot bigger than others. She is very independent, but likes to cuddle on her own time. They are a lot of work though!!

This is awesome! We want both a boxer and a shiba, but aren't sure in what order to get them re: dominance issues, etc. What worked for you?

Aww such a cute couple the marking on the shiba's back is very neat also what is their names?
I've had two boxers before now I have no dogs my parents are hoping to get a new boxer puppy this year and I hope to get a shiba inu puppy too since I've always wanted one I hope the two gets along. =)

@FirstLTRipvanWinkle The marking is there because it's an obvious mix.

@shibakun - He is actually a purebred Shiba. The white patch on the back & high socks are from very old breeding lines (so I was told from a judge when I took him to the Beikoku Shiba Inu Aikokai Specialty Show)

i want to get a shiba inu puppy, but im still not sure because i heard that all they do is wander around the house and i actually interacted with one at the pet store and she didnt even play with me, all she did was wander and look at the floor. should i get this dog?
