Here's part 1 of about 50 minutes of advertising for The Disney Channel that aired on April 15th, 1990 during one of their preview weekends. Witness how great this channel used to be.

1. Coming up next...
2. Nancy (The Disney Channel Operator. Get used to her...)
3. Celebrate Me Home (America's Family Network)
4. Promo for "The Littlest Rebel" with Shirley Temple
5. Promo for "Avonlea" (Angry Dog Alert!)
6. Promo for "Mother Goose Rock & Rhyme" (All aspects of this overwhelmed and frightened me as a child)
7. Promo for "New Kids On The Block: Live in Your House" (Or as I call them, the Four Horsemen of the Boy Band Apocalypse)
8. Nancy...again
9. Mickey's Microscope (Eyecatch)
10. Preview Show (Featuring the voice of Roger Rabbit, Charles Fleischer)
11. Promo for "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" (Behind the scenes footage likely from an EPK for the film)

  • What's a preview channel?

  • @a999op When the Disney Channel was a premium channel, every six months or so they would have a "preview week" where all basic cable users had access to the channel and could see what it was like. It was very common for premium cable channels to do this in the 90's.

  • What does he mean by " True humanymotion " in 8:11-8:16 ?

  • Human emotion.

  • Disney was a million times better back then

  • When we had to pay extra for it, we got good stuff. Now that we don't, it sucks. I guess you really DO get what you pay for >>

  • When I was a kid we only had Disney channel during the summer, I loved growing up in the 90's such an amazing time, Summer time was great back then...

  • Avonlea... Anne of Green Gables... Mother Goose Rock & Rhyme... the memories! Oh and I called the 1-800 # just out of curiosity and it just rang lol no message/pick up

  • Love these memories!

  • Back then, my family needed a box to get Disney Channel except during previews, because our cable company was pesky and never took requests for adding channels. My father liked remote controls better than boxes (unless they were for digital cable), probably because he was (and still is) too lazy to walk up to the TV and flip through channels.

  • What ever happened to Disney channel? now a days they have stupid shows that aren't good for kids to watch. I was a little kid during the 90's back when they had good shows.

  • @80sCommercialVault And they don't even show THAT anymore.

  • @80sCommercialVault Yeah, my mom would tape stuff off this channel when they had previews because my dad would never EVER pay for a premium. What's ironic now is he pays about $12 extra for a sports package on DirecTV (and we're getting Showtime free for 3 months now because he's a loyal customer).

  • @cheerbear703= Well, the bright side is Miley's gone. Maybe Didsney will chancge for the better. Though I won't hold my breath.
