Dave Etchells talks to Chris Rice from Panasonic about the newly announced GH1 micro four thirds digital SLR. It captures video at 1080p/24fps and 720p/60fps while haveing the option to have full manual controls as you shoot.
It is 1080i but that is not the whole story. It actually records at 24p - a cinematic standard and looks very good. But for compatibility with TVs it stores this footage in a 1080i format. Your PC editing software can be used to return it to 24p, for a better image.
I talked about possible cameras like this back in 2005 on DPReview. It is so great to finally see True Hybrid Digital cameras like this coming out. They are the future of Digital Image Capture (both stills & movies) and are a natural progression of the technology.
Great video keep up the good work.

Hopefully it will come in professional "black" ... as flamingbrickstudios noted ... the silver gives that 80's look ... not good for clients.
