I've been looking at the OQO, the Panasonic R7, and the Asus EEE. After playing with the OQO for 30 minutes, I found it to be extremely cumbersome to work with, difficult to type on and slow. I bought the Panasonic R7 since I felt it was the smallest I was willing to go with an ultra portable pc and still maintain my productivity levels.

Thanks for your answer.
Well i will see what i can get for this range of price.
The Panasonic R7 is very nice but i can't find it at reasonable price here in Belgium.
I will probably go for the XPS M1330 even if it's quite bigger than the oqo, just to be sure ^^
thanks ;)
I don't know hy but I have also the 1.2 gig Xp home edition and tge hardware manager is totaly different than you. And I don't see any waecom tablet option. Maybe they does 2 versions of the 1.2 gig?

The unit reviewed was the first release of model 02 (the first batch), so OQO might change the software of the new one. Or they may take away the active screen altogether on the lower end. When did you get yours?

You have to buy the docking to get the optical drive or just buy any "USB" drive.

Hello and thanks for the test :)
I would like to ask you : would the OQO model 02 (new e2 version let say) is a "good" choice if i intended to write code for example with flash cs3 or C# ?
Keyboard too small and insufficient performance is what i fear about this product since i could have a nice 12" for that price...
Thanks if you could help me on this ;)

I don't think it is practical to code using the built-in keyboard. There is someone on the net that always brings an external keyboard with him and he use it to code using Adobe Flex.
Performance wise, I think it will be okay. Of course you might not be able to run too many apps at once. So you will end up running Flash CS3 first or C# (assuming you are using Visual Studio) one at a time.
For coding, I highly recommend Panasonic R7 (it small enough yet quite powerful too!)
