UTOPIA -
Another Live LP, I heard this original studio cut aired on EARL ROOT's Root of All Evil
During his 5 hour metal show, he spent over an hour playing lost 70s and slower, more obscure rock. In keeping with the station's support of neglected listening groups, he steered away from any big AOR hits. This song is still relevant today, however. The cover that leads in at the outro was cut for space and time. The LP says Recorded Live Summer 1974, IIRC (maybe 1975?)

  • This song really rocks, it's crystal clear .. and Todd's voice sounds so young, aggressive ... and I wish you would've kept it going with "Do Ya Do Ya Want my Love" ... hahaha . But I'll take this. Good effort.

  • Sorry, I had that transferred to MD then to PC. The LP is the analog copy I have, and was not able to get the studio version I initially heard. Again, classic from the Root of All Evil radio show! I felt it fit well in that show that is mostly metal but rare rock cuts as well. I was worried about going over 10 mins

  • Thanks for posting this. One of my favorite Todd songs. I'd like to see an early 70's live performance of this on video.

  • Official album, so, doubt they filmed it, but I hear ya!

  • From Central Park Utopia show August, 1975. Todd's voice at its most Todd-like.

  • @MrSKINFLICK I taped to MiniDisc direct from my LP input on a JVC receiver, and the level was low perhaps to avoid any distortion

  • @MetallicBill : Dear MetallicBill: why has this great track from "Another Live" (the fastest - as it should be !) such a low level sound quality ! still thanks for posting and lotsa love from Germany. Todd was and is a prophet in sound !

  • Thanks a bunch!!! Born in Cleveland and this is my favorite Todd song!!!

  • Love this
